All right what's up guys so i've had a lot of people uh question or even kind of see some of these pop times i'm showing in some of these videos and i wanted to show a clip of a video of how i actually use the pop time app it's a phenomenal app um but just to preface a few things it is based off of a baseball distance which the baseball distance from home to second is a little over 100 feet and the softball distance is about 84 feet and a couple of inches um so The miles per hour that is shown is definitely not accurate, okay? So those of you that are saying that a softball player can't throw 92 miles an hour, You're probably right, because I don't know if I've seen one. The fastest that I've seen is 75 miles an hour. But it's that miles per hour is not accurate. However, the pop time is. And I wanted to show you how I use the app, what I use. And it's just based off of video evidence. OK, so the better the video, the better you're going to be able to see the first catch, the release, the second catch. Obviously, if you have a timing mechanism that can precisely measure the pop time, that's probably gonna give you the most accurate pop time. But if you are someone that likes to use the app and likes to use video evidence, this is a really great app to use it with. And there is some user error. Sometimes we move our finger a little bit too far and sometimes we use the arrow a little bit too much. But for the most part, you're making an error within milliseconds. But it is a great app to use. You can upload any kind of film that you want. You can use game film, you can use practice film. It is a phenomenal app, and I advocate for it. So those of you that are catchers or catching instructors, please, please, please go download it. It's only $2.99, and no, they're not a sponsor, but I would love for them to be. That would be cool. But it's a super great app. Definitely go use it for anything that you need training-wise. Okay, cool. Thanks. Okay, so here we go. This is how we use our PopTime app. So I've uploaded this video, and upon once I throw the ball, I'll stop the video at the first catch. And then you'll click that mark time button, and then you'll click the first catch button, and then it creates a little line on that black cursor right there as a green line, so that indicates the first catch. And then as the video progresses, you can see that I'm clicking a little button, the right button over there and the arrow button, and I'm going to stop it again and that's going to give me the release time and I'm going to click that. So there you get a pretty accurate exchange time from glove to release and then now we're getting our ball flight. It's making its way towards second base. I'm going to click that right arrow again and I'm going to let go of that when it hits the other glove. I'm going to click mark time and I'm going to click second catch and that's going to give me the pop time that I need. And this pop time is accurate. This athlete is currently in her freshman season in Oklahoma.
