Behind the Scenes of calling a D1 softball game on ESPN from home!

Behind the Scenes 🎥 @amandascarborough

A glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes in sports broadcasting - D1 softball 🥎

Video Transcript:

Let me take you behind the scenes to call a division one softball game from my house, literally right inside my office. Three hours before we check in to make sure that I can hear my play by play who is in Kansas city at my producer and director who were actually in Starkville on my laptop. I have my notes from coach calls my iPad. I have stat broadcast up to track everything on this iPad. It's called the all nine so we can see the field.

The big screen there sees what you see as a fan watching. On my TV, I always have another game going on that's live to keep an eye on what's happening across the country. A lot of screens in front of me. About an hour before, 30 minutes before, we like to write in the lineups. We don't usually get them until 30 minutes before the game. It's usually a mad rush. We plug them in and then boom, we're on air and you see me on your screen. I'm calling the game right inside my house.

So this is what it looks like behind the scenes. Rogan right next to me, of course, Reddick in the hallway. And I think most people would have no idea that we call us some games right from my office.
